Police Shoots Tricycle(Keke) Driver Dead

Akeem Aransi, 31, is the tricycle(keke) driver, shot dead by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Identified simply as Mohammed during an argument in Shasha, Akowonjo area.
    ASP Mohammed of the Disaster Management Unit, Operations Department of the Lagos State Police Command headquaters, Ikeja, deserted his Unity close apartment in Egbeda shortly after the incident, he is currently being hunted by the Police Force.
   It was gathered that the ASP was on a motorcycle (Okada) which was hit by the tricycle driver on kareem laka street in Egbeda area, leading to an argument that caused the killing of the tricycle driver by the ASP. Eyewitnesses said that passersby who tried to settle the rift were ignored by the ASP who was said to have brought out his pistol and shot the tricycle driver in the chest and he died on the spot.
 It was gathered that the motorcycle drivers led a delegation to sasha police division to protest Akeem's death on wednesday.
     DSP Kenneth Nwosu, Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and added that the Police is doing everything possible to arrest the ASP.
   He said "We have identified the policeman, but he has been on the run. We are making efforts to arrest him. His action is alien to the Police culture. It is not in line with the vision and mission of the Lagos State Police Command".
